The artist completed her education in Ottoman, Turkish Classical Music, and Traditional Folk Music theory, solfeggio, and repertoire at the Adana Municipal Conservatory. After passing the Ministry of Culture's exam, she began her professional singing career at the Elâzığ State Classical Turkish Music Choir. Following this, Karaytuğ served in the Bursa State Classical Music Choir and in 1997 continued her work in the Istanbul State Turkish Music Ensemble as a trained artist. During her time with Mehmet Güntekin's Istanbul Fasıl Ensemble, she contributed to the performance of the "fasıl tradition." She worked on special and classical makam music styles, especially focusing on free-rhythm forms and makam gazel. She quickly became one of the female vocalists in Turkey capable of mastering this field. In 1990, Eda Karaytuğ earned the right to make recordings at the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT). In addition to television programs and concerts, she gave solo concerts in many countries including Egypt, Qatar, Turkmenistan, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Greece, and many more. The TV program "Yine Bir Gülnihal," prepared and presented by Mehmet Güntekin and accompanied by "Istanbul Sazendeleri," which was broadcast live on 'Kanal 7', was awarded the best TV music program by the Turkish Writers' Association in the field of Music and Cultural Arts.
Karaytuğ also participated in many international performances as part of the "Yedi Cihan Kadınları" ensemble, a women's music movement that vocalizes Turkey's multicultural music heritage. In 2017, she released the album "Masum Aşk," under the artistic direction of Göksel Baktagir, featuring works in different languages such as Arabic, Azerbaijani, Greek, and Bosnian.
